A renovation and extension of this historical house that has its heritage as an old brick kiln. We’ve been able to incorporate into the new parts of the house some fantastic relics from the days when the kiln was operational – like an old steel dolly and other rustic steel elements. The house was built by the father of our aspiring client, so there’s plenty of emotion built into the place and the integrity and simplicity of the original building is a clear inspiration for the new work. The house required a bit of a reorganization to make the spaces more practical to use and to have more winter sun entering the building.
